Biography
Luis Benedict Alfsmann received his first piano lessons at the age of seven with Nana Gvasalia. After studies at the Detmold University of Music with Prof. Elena Margolina-Hait and with Rainer M. Klaas, he continued his studies at the Freiburg University of Music with Prof. Gilead Mishory. He has attended masterclasses with, among others, Jerome Rose, Klaus Hellwig, and Nina Tichman. He has performed piano concertos by Mozart, Beethoven, and Grieg. His awards include first prizes at the Westphalian van Bremen Piano Competition and at the international Young Euregio Piano Award.

Concert activity
Since his orchestral debut at the age of 13, Luis Benedict Alfsmann has performed as a soloist with, among others, the Instrumentalverein Dortmund under the direction of Markus Fohr, as well as within the Neue Sterne Wernigerode series with the Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra Wernigerode conducted by Musical Director Christian Fitzner. On these occasions, he performed piano concertos by Mozart, Beethoven, and Grieg. In recent years, he has also drawn attention with demanding and thoughtfully curated solo programs, receiving enthusiastic reviews from, among others, the Badische Zeitung and the Neue Westfälische. He has furthermore been featured in radio recordings for WDR.
